Enhancing inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility & antiracism at the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union

Why participate in SIAS?

SIAS is a long form questionnaire that asks individuals to share their experiences across 5 categories:

1. Inclusion/Antiracism
2. Diversity
3. Equity
4. Accessibility
5. Justice

It also requests information about participants’ social location & identity. These anonymized findings are then used to run various qualitative analyses to determine gaps in diversity, equity & inclusion. The data retrieved from SIAS is used to develop solutions, interventions and long-term strategies to advance DEI goals and enhance the student experience for all community members.

You can access the SIAS by clicking the link below and using the password emailed to you by the Students’ Union.

How will my data be used?

Your participation in SIAS is critical to gaining much needed insight on the necessary next-steps for creating Wilfrid Laurier’s strategic plan and roadmap on advancing DEI at the Students’ Union.

Your anonymized data from the SIAS will only be used to direct the short-term and long-term directives the Students’ Union will take to make both its services and environmental relevant, applicable and amenable to equity-denied student populations.

Your experiences will directly inform several aspects of the strategic plan including but not limited to:

  • Resource allocation
  • Campaigns and initiatives
  • Ordering priorities
  • Emphasizing areas in need of improvement

We will not be collecting or sharing personally identifiable information (PII) like names, addresses or contact information. Student union and/or university staff will never receive your information, nor will they be notified of your participation.
